In the first of a new series, we’re bringing you a behind the scenes look at some of the businesses we have based here at Warwick Mill. To start with we’re bringing you a look at not just one but two companies that together service businesses across most sectors of industry, not just in Cumbria but across the UK, all from their offices nestled amongst the meeting rooms on the 2nd floor of the business centre.
Integrated Risk Management Ltd was formed in 2006 by Neil Elsender who realised the need for health and safety support in the agricultural engineering and construction plant industry from his previous work with Lloyd Ltd. Since then the business headed by husband and wife team Neil and Kim has increased its influence across multiple sectors including, but not limited to, haulage, renewable energy, motor retail, quarrying and the hotel and hospitality industry. At the same time they purchased and have since grown a second company CTS Statutory Inspections Ltd who undertake engineering examinations of lifting plant, pressure plants and local exhaust ventilation systems.
Both businesses have seen considerably growth in the past twelve months with CTS Statutory Inspections Ltd now working with over 450 clients across Cumbria, the North East and Scotland as they look to recruit an additional engineer. In the meantime IRM Ltd has seen its national reputation grow leading them to increase their team to four consultants.
Although separate, both businesses enhance the other and sometime work together as can be seen with some of the large well known Cumbrian companies.
Latterly, they have worked with Technology Mill to create a database system that allows them to hold, save, store and amend the health and safety documents for each client in a way that is secure and allows easy and immediate access for the client. The developed software has had fantastic feedback from clients. “They have secure access to the information that they need instantly, and in the process we’ve found we can respond much quicker to clients and ultimately save money” said Neil.
Each client has a bespoke solution to fulfil their particular needs but the IRM Ltd offering extends to providing health and safety training at Warwick Mill. Toolbox Talks on any element of health and safety can also be arranged.
As you would expect with a close knit team sometimes other elements of life spill in so when Kim needed waiting staff for her Macmillan Fundraiser up stepped the IRM chaps. We have seen the photos and shall we just say they looked very “fetching”.
