Warwick Mill is a perfect example of how something historic can be reused for a whole new generation of industry and still provide a home for sustainable environmental protections.

Preserving our Environment for Future Generations

All the mill buildings have been brought back to life with many of the key engineering features reused for the 21st century. Not only does this preserve beautiful, historical buildings with all their character, but limits the embodied carbon that would be created in a new build.

All the weather that Cumbrian climate throws at us is used either with the water of the old mill race now powering an electricity turbine feeding into the national grid or with the solar panels on the old weaving sheds collecting the UV rays.

In winter our state of the art biomass boiler keeps the mill toasty even on the coolest of days whilst reducing our CO2 output whilst thermastatic controls ensure we only heat the areas we need to.

We are keen to promote recycling and provide facilities to recycle cardboard and paper, cans, clean plastics, toners and printer cartridges (in aid of the Great North Air Ambulance) and scrap metal.

More recently we began a plan to turn our grass areas into wild flower meadows using native wildflowers. The seeds from which have not only helped to regenerate the area but further afield as tenants took poppy seeds from the meadows to their own gardens and wild areas.

With public transport links and bike parks and showers encouraging active and sustainable transport the mill is doing all we can to ensure that while preserving the building, we are also preserving and enhancing our environment for future generations.
